New water main required for Warkworth Township
Client: Rodney District Council
Project: New water main for Warkworth township
Service: Horizontal Directional Drilling

The Rodney District Council required the services of PipeWorks Vermeer Navigator II, D100X120 horizontal drilling rig, to install an 180m long, 2.5m deep pipeline for a new water supply from the main town water reservoir.

The Vermeer Navigator II, D100X120 is one of the largest horizontal drilling rigs in the country. It is capable of a 45.3tonne push/pull and 16.3kNm torque.

The unique feature of this drilling project was the curvature in the horizontal plane required to accurately reach the target receiving pit, in parts alongside the road and at times crossing under the road.
